Matt Daw and I went birding (and butterflying) at Falls Dam today, the highlight being a Vesper Sparrow seen at the top of the dam. Because of the large number of walkers, the bird frequently flushed down the large hill. The white outer tail feathers were evident when it flew, and I got some pictures with the characteristic rusty shoulder. The eye ring was also very clear on the bird. The Vesper Sparrow was a state bird for me, #295. My best picture is below. The second one down isn't as clear, but shows the roufus on the wing.

Ali,
The Cobweb Skipper was in Durham County near the Orange County line, not close enough for including it on the Falls Lake list. Bet they are found at Falls Lake though.
